Chartered Practice status – the industry’s gold standard for financial planners
Currently awarded to fewer than 750 practices across the UK, Chartered status is the financial planning industry’s gold standard. Our recognition as a Chartered Practice means that we have built a culture where further education is encouraged, achievement is valued and hard work on our clients’ behalf is rewarded.
All of our advisers are qualified to at least first-degree level in Financial Planning; all strictly adhere to our institute’s code of ethics; and each individual is following a programme of continuous professional development.
For you, all of this means that all our advisers are completely up-to-date, ethical and professional, and that you can interact with them with clarity and confidence.
PFS Fellowship (designation FPFS)
This is the pinnacle of the industry and demonstrates an advisor is prepared to invest in personal development well beyond the statutory requirements.
Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (designation APFS)
The Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning enables professional advisers to develop their specialist planning capabilities, providing clear differentiation from the main body of advisers.
Individual Chartered status
Advanced Diploma holders are also eligible for Chartered Financial Planner status (subject to having five years’ experience, not necessarily post-qualification).
Chartered status reinforces the importance of professionalism in a fast-moving and competitive market. It also distinguishes holders from their competitors and peers.
Diploma in Financial Planning (designation Dip PFS)
The Diploma in Financial Planning is a tried-and-tested qualification. It is what the FSA has termed a ‘transitional qualification’ in that holders will satisfy the RDR qualification requirements, with any short-fall between the coverage of this qualification and the new exam standards to be met through ‘Qualification Gap-Fill’.
